How to get to Blackpool?
Blackpool is easily accessible from all parts of the UK with the M55 motorway, which leads right into the heart of the resort, linking the town to the country's motorway network.
From the North
Take the M6 southbound to junction 32 and then continue on to the M55 (signposted Blackpool). Exit on to the M55 Slip road at junction 4 and then continue straight ahead on to the A583, following the signs for the town centre/tourist attractions.
From the North West (Manchester, Liverpool etc)
Take the M60 ring road and join the M61 at junction 15 (signposted Bolton/Preston). Continue on the M61 for around 20 miles before joining the M6 northbound. Continue straight ahead until junction 32 and then take the M55 (signposted Blackpool). Exit on to the M55 Slip road at junction 4 and then continue straight ahead on to the A583, following the signs for the town centre/tourist attractions.
From the South:
Take the M6 northbound to junction 32 and then continue on to the M55 (signposted Blackpool). Exit on to the M55 Slip road at junction 4 and then continue straight ahead on to the A583, following the signs for the town centre/tourist attractions.
Virgin's fast Pendolino trains will bring you to Preston, with four services an hour for the onward journey to Blackpool North. Hourly services connect Blackpool South station to East Lancashire, again stopping at Preston.
There are also direct services to Blackpool North from Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Victoria, Manchester International AirportLiverpool Lime Street and York stations.
National Express Coaches operate services to and from Blackpool Central Coach Station throughout the year. Local bus services run from Preston, Lancaster, Nelson, Southport and Fleetwood. Long distance bus services, and charters, run from virtually everywhere in Great Britain.
Blackpool Airport is located just 2.5 miles from the town centre and all the major tourist attractions, making air travel to Blackpool easier than ever.
